Crocker's Art Auction Features
Works of Art by Northen California's
Most Distinguished Artists

March 1, 2004 - This year's Crocker Art Auction, which includes an array of paintings, ceramics and sculpture from Northern California's most distinguished artists, will be held on Saturday, June 5 at the Crocker Art Museum.

A summer evening of gourmet food, fine wine and music sets the stage for the annual sell-out event. The evening begins at 5 p.m. with a preview viewing and silent auction, followed by a buffet dinner at 6 p.m. and a live auction at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the beautiful works of art, the auction includes luxury items such as weekend trips, jewelry and restaurant gift certificates. Auction items will be exhibited May 20 - June 4 during regular Museum hours. Special preview events include a walk-through of the artwork with Museum Director Lial Jones on May 22 from 11 a.m. - noon; and an Artist Reception where attendees can speak one-on-one with artists on May 27 from 6 - 8 p.m.

The Crocker Art Museum was founded in 1885 and continues as the leading art institution for the California Capital Region and Central Valley. The Museum offers a diverse spectrum of special exhibitions, events and programs to augment its collections of Californian, European and Asian artworks. The Crocker is located at 216 O Street in downtown Sacramento.
