Crocker Presents:
African Cinema Festival

March 14, 2005 – Sacramento, Calif. – Intriguing and provocative, the Crocker Film Series will be presenting the African Cinema Festival throughout the month of April, featuring works by renowned filmmakers as well as innovative new talents. The beautiful and engaging films are at once entertaining and probing, addressing serious issues of identity and politics in post-colonial Africa . Through these films, Africa, as portrayed through African eyes, engages and enlightens viewers on the complex reality of the continent today.

All films are with English subtitles and are furnished by African Diaspora Film Society. Admission to films is $5 for members and $6 for nonmembers after general Museum admission. A complete listing of film titles, times and lengths can be found at crockerartmuseum.org.

The Crocker Art Museum was founded in 1885 and continues as the leading art institution for the California Capital Region and Central Valley. The Museum offers a diverse spectrum of special exhibitions, events and programs to augment its collections of Californian, European and Asian artworks. The Crocker is located at 216 O Street in downtown Sacramento.
