Crocker's Summer Art Class
Registration Begins April 1

2005 Classes Feature 14 Sessions

March 14, 2005 – Sacramento , Calif. – Registration for this year’s Summer Art Classes for Children and Teens, which offers 14 sessions using different media and subjects, begins April 1.

Each session is designed for a particular age group and taught by local artists using current Crocker exhibits for inspiration. Students are encouraged to unleash their imagination while receiving formal lessons in color, line, texture and variety of media. Most classes offer a morning or afternoon session. A full listing of programs follows.

Session fees are $60 – $100 per student and include materials and refreshments. Members of the Crocker Art Museum Association receive discounts on each session. For more information or to receive a registration form, contact Emma Moore at (916) 264-1961 or visit crockerartmuseum.org.

Ceramics: Push, Pull and Pinch
August 2 & 3 or 4 & 5, 9 AM - NOON
$85 members; $100 nonmembers

Ages 8-12
Silkscreen Printmaking: Squeegee, fabric, and prints!
June 14-17, 9 AM - NOON OR 1:30-4:30 PM
$70 members; $85 nonmembers

Painting: Abstract Still-Life
June 21-24, 9 AM - NOON
$60 members; $75 nonmembers

Drawing: Draw Objects
June 28-July 1, 9 AM - NOON OR 1:30-4:30 PM
$60 members; $75 nonmembers

Drawing: Cartoons
July 12-15, 9 AM - NOON OR 1:30-4:30 PM
$60 members; $75 nonmembers

Mixed Media: Assemblage Sculpture
July 19-22, 9 AM - NOON OR 1:30-4:30 PM
$70 members; $85 nonmembers

Ceramics: Tiles and Wheel Thrown Creations
July 26-29, 9 AM - NOON OR 1:30-4:30 PM
$85 members; $100 nonmembers

Ages 12-17
Ceramics: Clay Sculpture

The Crocker Art Museum was founded in 1885 and continues as the leading art institution for the California Capital Region and Central Valley. The Museum offers a diverse spectrum of special exhibitions, events and programs to augment its collections of Californian, European and Asian artworks. The Crocker is located at 216 O Street in downtown Sacramento.
