FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New Program at the Crocker Crocker Contemporaries organizes social gatherings designed for minds 25-45 September 21, 2005 – Sacramento, Calif. – The Crocker is expanding its typical Thursday Night Out series with a set of programs and receptions designed especially for those aged 25 to 45 who share an interest in art. A new committee at the Museum, called Crocker Contemporaries, will organize social receptions to follow Thursday Night Out programs that are of special interest to this age group. The programs, mostly consisting of discussions or films, will be held on the fourth Thursday of the month and will feature complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Although organized by the Crocker Contemporaries, all are invited to attend these special receptions. The first season of Crocker Contemporary receptions will begin October 27 with the Crocker Forum, “That’s Art?!” This open forum will discuss what determines a true work of art in society after viewing a variety of works by “controversial” artists. The evening will open with a reception at 6 PM, featuring hors d’oeuvres by Dragonfly, with the forum following at 6:30 PM. Admission to the program and reception is free to members and $10 for nonmembers.
