Find Love Fast at the Crocker
Speed Dating Program Launches in August
May 3, 2007 – Sacramento, Calif. – Cultured souls looking for love will have a new venue when the Crocker Art Museum launches its first-ever speed dating night on Thursday, August 30.
Twenty-four participants will be paired up to discuss common interests or the artwork on view. After five minutes of conversation, the participants will rotate and “date” another individual until they have met everyone. Following each meeting, each party will evaluate their “date” and indicate if they are interested in meeting again. If a mutual interest is expressed, the Crocker will provide a phone number exchange.
“The Crocker is a great place to hold a speed-dating event because art elicits such a personal, emotional response from the viewer. You can really get to know a person by their reaction to a work of art,” said Erica Wall, Director of Education at the Crocker.
The Museum will host two one-hour sessions. The first session, for ages 25–35, will begin at 6 PM. The second session, for ages 35–45, will begin at 7 PM. Space is limited to 12 men and 12 women during each session, and registration is required. The cost is $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers. More speed dating opportunities at the Crocker will follow in subsequent months.
To register, contact Stacy Beckley at (916) 264-1182 by August 23.
The Crocker Art Museum was founded in 1885 and continues as the leading art institution for the California Capital Region and Central Valley.
