Rediscover a Sacramento Treasure
Crocker features new works in every gallery and a family-friendly scavenger hunt
June 6, 2007 – Sacramento, Calif. – Area residents will rediscover a Sacramento Treasure this summer when they visit the Crocker Art Museum, which features new artworks in every gallery and a family-friendly scavenger hunt.
“Even frequent visitors will find something new to love in our recently reinstalled galleries,” said Lial Jones, Museum Director.
With a permanent collection that includes one of the state’s premier collections of California art, a world-renowned collection of master drawings and growing collections of Asian art and international ceramics, there is something to meet all interests. The California Gallery now features some paintings that have not been on view for more than 100 years. Not-to-be-missed is the diversity of new contemporary artistic voices and visions on display in the Tsakopoulos Gallery.
Visitors are encouraged to participate in a Summer Treasures scavenger hunt as they tour the galleries. Comprised of 10 questions, the scavenger hunt is suitable for all ages. Completed scavenger hunts will be entered to win weekly prizes from other Sacramento treasures. The following shops, restaurants and entertainment venues are participating in Summer Treasures:
B Street Theatre
Barby K Boutique
The Beat
Crest Theatre
Fox & Goose Public House
Freeport Bakery
Le Petit Paris Boutique
