FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Neo-Crocker: A Modern Culture Party Celebrates Crocker Past, Future Fire dancers, Ferraris, Dancing and Artist Installations Included in Entertainment September 25, 2007 – Sacramento, Calif. – Attendees to the Neo-Crocker: A Modern Culture Party will enjoy an evening unlike any before experienced at the Crocker Art Museum, featuring fire dancers, Ferraris, champagne and artist installations. Neo-Crocker will serve as the last major onsite event until construction is complete and the New Crocker opens in 2010. The event will be held on Friday, October 19, from 8 p.m. – 1 a.m. The dynamic activities planned for the evening will be held in the Museum Courtyard and the gallery and office space that has been emptied in preparation of demolition of the Herold Wing. The large open space allows for DJ dancing, image projection, artist’s murals and dance troupes along with hors d’oeuvres by Restaurant 55º and a cash bar. Images of the Crocker’s expansion project along with images from Burning Man by Andy Pischalnikoff from the Playa Vision Series will be included in projections on the blank gallery walls. “We wanted to host one final large event before we scale down operations due to construction of our expansion,” said Lial Jones, Director, Crocker Art Museum. “The Neo-Crocker party gives us the opportunity to celebrate what the Crocker has been, but more importantly show a glimpse of what the New Crocker will be when it opens in 2010.” Neo-Crocker is a fundraiser to support modern culture at the Crocker Art Museum. Tickets are $50 per person in advance, $75 at the door if available. To purchase tickets call (916) 264-5181 or visit crockerartmuseum.org. The Crocker Art Museum was founded in 1885 and continues as the leading art institution for the California Capital Region and Central Valley.
