FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 3rd Annual Art Book Fair at the Crocker Fall Into a Good Art Book on September 6 July 30, 2008 - Sacramento, CA - Fall into a good art book at the Crocker Art Museum's 3rd annual Art Book Fair on Saturday, September 6, 2008. The event will be held in the Victorian garden near the Museum's entrance from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Admission to fair activities is free and Museum admission is free with purchase. Visitors will find unique and limited edition art books with subjects that cover classic works of art, to outsider art and more at the gently used art book table sponsored by the Friends of the Sacramento Library. The Museum library will also have a table of used art books for sale. The Art Book Fair will consist of activities for all ages including, author book signings, children's story time sessions and hands-on art making. Author Victoria Randall will be on hand talking about her new book of sweetly evocative photos called And The Pony, Too. Sacramento's Poet Laureate Julia Connor, along with artist Suzanne Johnson, will debut Poets on Deck, a card deck which honors 52 poets who were active in the Sacramento Valley in the late 1960s through the 1980s. The card deck is sponsored by the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission and available for the first time at the Crocker Art Book Fair. The Crocker Art Museum was founded in 1885 and continues as the leading art institution for the California Capital Region and Central Valley. The Museum offers a diverse spectrum of special exhibitions, events and programs to augment its collections of California, European and Asian artworks. The Crocker is located at 216 O Street in Downtown Sacramento. Museum hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday-Sunday; 1st and 3rd Thursdays until 9 p.m. Free admission on Sundays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. is made possible through the support of Bank of America.
