The Crocker Art Museum invites you and your students to discover the power of art! Explore a full range of experiences designed to spark creativity and grow critical thinking skills, from guided adventures in the galleries to bringing the Museum experience directly to your school and into your classroom. Visits to the Crocker

Journey into art on view with a guided tour led by one of the Museum's docents, specially trained tour guides. Guided school group tours are 50-minute, interactive experiences that expose students to the Museum’s collection and special exhibitions. Teachers and docents work together to customize the tour experience to the needs of each class. Following the scheduled tour, students with chaperones may continue to explore and enjoy the Museum.  

  • Available Wednesday – Friday at 10 AM and 11 AM. 

  • Standard tours are 50 minutes 

  • Up to 70 students per hour with one adult chaperone per eight students required.  

  • $5 per student. $3 per student of Title 1 schools.  

  • Free for required chaperones, $10 per additional adult. 

  • Entire group must pay together in a single transaction prior to visit or at Admission desk upon arrival. 

  • Six-week advance registration required. Groups without reservations may be accommodated if availability permits but will be charged standard admission rates. 

  • Special arrangements to accommodate larger groups or non-standard times may be arranged based on capacity. 

Enhance your Museum visit with a guided tour paired with an art-making experience. Students explore artworks in the galleries with a trained docent, then join Museum educators in the studio to create their own work of art. 

Tour + Printmaking 
Using the Museum’s print collection as a starting point, students learn the techniques, styles, and tools of printmaking. After exploring prints in the galleries, students create their own monoprint in the studios under the guidance of a resident teaching artist. 

  • Available Wednesday – Friday at 10 and 11 AM 

  • Recommended for grades 4 – 6 

  • Maximum of 35 students per workshop. One adult chaperone per eight students is required. 

  • $450 per workshop. 

  • Six-week advance registration required. 

  • All supplies included. 

  • Special arrangements to accommodate larger groups or non-standard times may be arranged based on capacity. 

Tour + Sketching 
Get introduced to sketching and its role in the artistic process. During this exploration students complete one or multiple sketches of artworks in the galleries, implementing basic drawing techniques to create the illusion of form and communicate value. 

  • Available Wednesday – Friday at 10 and 11 AM 

  • Recommended for grades 3 – 12 

  • Maximum of 35 students per workshop. One adult chaperone per eight students is required. 

  • $350 per workshop. 

  • Six-week advance registration required. 

  • All supplies included. 

  • Special arrangements to accommodate larger groups or non-standard times may be arranged based on capacity. 

Pre-school, kindergarten, and first-grade students may enjoy exploring the Museum with one of our Family Program Guides on an "A is for Art" tour. These tours are scheduled on the first and third Fridays and the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.
