Black History Month Celebration: A Free Family Festival
February 21, 2016
11 AM - 3 PM
This year, the Crocker’s annual Black History Month Celebration is honoring mavericks, innovators, and nightingales. The performance lineup has a bit of everything for everyone — a shouting good time with Next Phase, The Isley Brothers Tribute Band; a special homage to African-American circus pioneers by Topsy Turvy Queer Circus and Tyehimba Kokayi; a fun history of hip hop with The Cypher Hip Hop Workshops; and don’t forget we’ve got hands-on activities, genealogy information, and an amazing arts and craft bazaar. There is something for all ages at this FREE family festival presented in collaboration with the Sojourner Truth Multicultural Art Museum.
This year's Arts & Crafts Bazaar features Kat & Bare Naturals; Gwendolyn Flemmings; Unlimited Fashions; Baskets by Sylvia Conable All Weather Fashion; Hollins Sullivan Arts; Finger Tips, etc.; Culture Collection; Deborah LeDet Designs; Shirley's Sugar and Spice; Jewels & Fiber; Body Oils by Brenda. We will also have Voter Registration and Better Life Children Services.
