| Description: | The Crockers were staunch abolitionists and purchased John Rogers' 1859 sculpture group, The Slave Auction, to voice their anti-slavery political views. Dr. Diana Strazdes, Associate Professor of Art History at UC Davis, will highlight Rogers' and other works while discussing the subject of abolitionism in 19th-century American art. Pre-registration is required by February 11. LECTURE IS FULL. |
