| The Vase and Beyond: The Sidney Swidler Collection of Ceramics October 10, 2010 Given to the Crocker in its entirety, the Sidney Swidler Collection of 20th-century studio ceramics features some 800 vessels by 300 international artists. Ranging from minute to monumental, the collection showcases the wide-ranging, innovative practice of contemporary ceramic artists with a gorgeous array of forms, techniques and glazes. The Swidler Collection proves that even a functional form like the vessel can defy expectations. |
