Call For Entries
The Kingsley Art Club, in cooperation with the Crocker Art Museum, seeks entries for Northern California’s premier juried exhibition to be held at the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria in Downtown Sacramento from January 10 – February 6, 2009. The competition is open to painters, sculptors, photographers, printmakers and craft artists who are current California residents. Each artist may submit up to three works for review.
Juror
Michael Bishop was born in Alameda, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Hayward, and his Master of Arts degree from California State University, San Jose. Bishop is the Chair of the art department at California State University, Chico, where he has taught since 1978. Bishop has worked in a variety of media from photography to sculpture to large public art projects such as the Alhambra Reservoir, which was commissioned by the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission in 2002.
Judging
The juror will choose 30 two-dimensional and 30 three-dimensional works for display. The exhibition will be selected through digital images, thus image quality is critical. The juror, however, reserves the right to omit work upon receipt if it is inconsistent in quality with the image, is poorly framed or has otherwise been misrepresented.
