Crocker Art Museum Presents "Big Names, Small Art" Silent Auction Party on Thursday, May 26

April 11, 2011 – Sacramento, Calif. – Attendees to the "Big Names, Small Art" silent auction party on Thursday, May 26, from 6 to 9 p.m. will enjoy music, artist demonstrations, and a good time for a great cause.

The evening's highlight will be a silent auction featuring the work of more than 100 "Big Name" regional artists. Each "Small Art" work measures in at 12-by-12 inches or less. Guests will be able to bid on original paintings, drawings, ceramics, and mixed-media works starting at $25.

Proceeds from this event go to support the exhibitions and education programs of the Crocker Art Museum.

"Big Names, Small Art" is free to Museum members and $15 for nonmembers. Nonmembers can purchase advance tickets at crockerartmuseum.org or the Museum Admission Desk. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

The Crocker Art Museum was one of the first art museums in the U.S. and is now one of the leading art institutions in California. Established in 1885, the Museum features one of the country's finest collections of Californian art, exceptional holdings of master drawings, a comprehensive collection of international ceramics, as well as European, Asian, African, and Oceanic art. The Crocker is located at 216 O Street in Downtown Sacramento. Museum hours are 10 a.m.–7 p.m., Tuesday–Wednesday; 10 a.m.–9 p.m., Thursdays; 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Friday–Sunday.
