Learn the art of s torytelling and how to establish (or continue) a family tradition. You wil l start with classic folktales to help warm up to the fun of storytelling. Next you will learn to tell stories based on visual images\, using a spec ial object brought from home or artwork in the galleries. You will also le arn to tell real stories from your own life in a way that is meaningful to children\, strengthens parent-child bonds\, preserves family histories\, and teaches life lessons. Instructor Mary McGrath has been a performing st oryteller for 20 years and taught storytelling at Sacramento City College for more than a decade. She studied storytelling at the Eugene O'Neill Cen ter in Connecticut and at the National Storytelling Association in Tenness ee. Mary holds a master's degree in Behavioral Science and Multicultural E ducation. Mary is co-founder of Straight Talk Storytellers\, an adult stor ytelling group.
