For parents and caregivers who just need a little break, there is no need to call a babysitter. Creative Care will engage children ages six to 10 with a mini-tour of the exhibition Celestial Realms: The Art of Nepal from California Collections and a yoga class taught by Joan Marks. For parents enrolled in The Art of Parenting: Mindfulness for Parents, this companion program gives families the opportunity to discuss and practice at home what they learned. Creative Care is open to all children in this age range. Check-in begins at 3:45 PM.
Space is limited and advance registration is recommended by 5 PM, October 22. Register now or call 916.808.1182.
The yoga class of this Creative Care will be taught by Joan Marks, a former elementary school teacher and yoga instructor specializing in yoga for rest and relaxation. She works at Asha Yoga and Sehatu Sleep in Granite Bay, and also volunteer teaches yoga and relaxation at Walnutwood High School's Adolescent Parent Program. Marks has a master's degree in Educational Leadership and has completed advanced yoga study with Judith Hanson Lasater, Paul Grilley, and Richard Miller.
