Explore how traditional Japanese art influences today's popular anime (film animation), manga (comic strips), and art toys. Check out the Crocker's collection of Japanese Kunisada prints, considered to be early comic strips, and an unforgettable origami exhibition. Draw your own manga adventures and paint your own collectible vinyl figure.

About the Instructor:

Laura Schofield began her art career by developing original art on brochures, newsletters, and flyers for nonprofit organizations. For 10 years she was the lead artist of the Community and Student Outreach Program for the Contra Costa Animal Services. Since moving to Sacramento, Schofield has taught at Academic Talent Search through California State University, Sacramento.
