Enjoy expert insights into classical drawing in this in-depth class which includes a special tour of the exhibition The Epic and the Intimate with Curator William Breazeale. In the studio, gain mastery of drawing from observation by learning, practicing, and developing classical principles of composition. You will learn how to sight-size, use comparative measuring, build a drawing through construction, show depth by foreshortening, and use chiaroscuro to shade objects.

About the Instructor:
Sarma Karsiere is an internationally recognized artist from Riga, Latvia. In her art, she explores the possibilities found in the cross-pollination of traditional and digital art media. She has been teaching studio art for more than 15 years and is currently an adjunct faculty member with the Los Rios Community College District. Karsiere will also teach Impressionist-Style Painting.
