About the Instructor:

Laurie Gates' interest in art, plants, and garden design began in her childhood. Her father was an artist and both parents encouraged her to become involved in art, various crafts, and gardening. She taught English in both high school and college for a number of years before deciding to change careers and return to the field of landscape horticulture, this time focusing on art and design.
