The term "Rockwellian" is synonymous with idyllic images of an idealized America, but Rockwell also depicted the turbulence of the civil rights movement. Learn about his artistic process and study his images in their historical context. In this interactive workshop, teachers will tour  American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell exhibition, learn about Rockwell's life and times, explore ways to bring Rockwell into K-12 history classrooms, and acquire visual literacy tools. Light refreshments will be served. Advance registration required by January 18.
