This visually stunning film from Academy Award-winning director Akira Kurosawa consists of eight powerful vignettes. It has inspired directors such as Oliver Stone, who calls it "haunting, symbolic, and drenched with whimsy and foreknowledge of death." Don Roth, Executive Director of Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts, will introduce the film and lead a post-screening Q & A session. Presented in collaboration with the Mondavi Center, which will feature a screening of Stone's classic Platoon in January. Seating is limited.
