Kwanzaa-Dancing-Mother--ChildMonday, February 18
11 AM - 3 PM
Museum Open & Free 10 AM - 5 PM

Inspired by the Black Family Reunion Celebration that occurs annually in Washington, D.C., the Crocker celebrates Black History Month with a spectacular showcase of the art, culture, history and traditions of the African Diaspora. African and African American history come alive at this vibrant festival which will feature storytelling by Asheba, choir performances by the Vukani Mawethu and Faith Fellowship Community Church, dance performances by Sacramento/Black Art of Dance (S/BAD), UMOJA, and the Phoenix Park Teen Hip Hop Dance Group. To top it all off, there will be gallery tours, hands-on learning, a community marketplace, and a special drop-in activity inspired by Arabella Grayson's extensive collection of Black paper dolls. Presented in collaboration with the Sojourner Truth Multicultural Art Museum and The Sacramento Observer, celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Holiday Mondays are sponsored by target red bullseye
