For ages 13-17

Two Saturdays, November 10 & 17
NOON - 4 PM

Interested in exploring a career in the arts? This class will show you how to critically assess commercial imagery, hone your creative process, and create an illustrative advertisement painting of your own. After a comparative review of advertising images and an in-depth look at Norman Rockwell's depictions of commercial products, you will select a product to promote and discuss visual elements that persuade consumers to purchase. Try your hand at Rockwell's creative process, including drawing preliminary sketches of your ideas, taking photographs, and painting a large-scale work.
