Be inspired by examples of Abstract and Modern art in the galleries, then experiment with a variety of acrylic painting techniques to create your own interpretations of these fascinating genres. You will also get to view the instructor's painting that belongs to the Museum's permanent collection, and gain first-hand insight into her process and materials.

About the Instructor:
Sacramento-based artist Kim Squaglia is known for her large paintings employing multiple layers of paint and coats of clear resin. She builds on each surface by painting very detailed and refined images that contrast with areas of void space. She received a master of fine arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
