Investigate how artists have explored issues of race and cultural identity in their art. Travis Somerville will speak about his powerful installation Rebirth of a Nation: Travis Somerville's 1963, on view at the Crocker. Presenters from Teaching Artists Organized, Bay Area will guide participants in hands-on experiences designed to explore the issues through creativity and dialogue. Recommended for middle and high school teachers. Light refreshments will be served. Advance registration required by April 18.
