Art Across the Curriculum Tours

Educators who reserve an Art Across the Curriculum Tour will receive a Teacher Preview Pass in their confirmation packet, which is good for free admission for two people. Educators are strongly encouraged to preview Museum exhibitions to help shape a comprehensive learning experience for their students.

Art Across the Curriculum Tour themes for the 2012-13 academic year include:
"A" is for Art
Grades Pre-K & K (ages 4-6)
In this adventurous tour, early learners play, imagine, move, and explore while learning key educational concepts such as sorting and sequencing along with shape, letter, and symbol recognition. Positive social skills and language-based interactions are also reinforced. This tour is 45 minutes in length.
All Aboard!

Grades 3-5
This tour takes students on a memorable adventure of two of Sacramento's most famous attractions. First stop is the California State Railroad Museum where students learn how the railroad transformed the state. They then take a short train ride over to the Crocker, the first public museum west of the Mississippi River. At the Crocker students enjoy a broader view of California's art, history, and natural beauty. Students, teachers, and chaperones are $10 per person. This tour is approximately 3 hours in length. Group Size & Chaperones:
80 students maximum. For Pre-K and Kindergarten groups, one chaperone is required for every six students. For grades 1-12, one chaperone is required for every eight students.
Fees:
When reserved four weeks in advance, tours are $3 per student for groups in Sacramento County and $5 per student for groups outside of Sacramento County, except for the All Aboard! theme. Teachers and required chaperones are free and additional chaperones are $4 per person, except for the All Aboard! theme. Call 916.808.1182 for All Aboard! fee information.
